What the forms on this site collect, who that information goes to, how long it stays, and what you can require.
Person in charge of personal information
Mathieu St-Onge, mortgage broker (certificate No. 259508), is the person responsible for the protection of personal information collected through this site. Any request or question about it can be sent to him at [email protected].
What is collected, and when
The contact form collects your name, email, phone number, city, the best time to reach you, your answers to the questions about your project (project and property type, value, down payment or balance, household income range, employment status, credit standing, co-borrower, timeline) and your message. The form asks for your consent before sending. Nothing is collected without you knowing: the calculators run in your browser and send no figures anywhere.
Why
To answer your request, review your project, prepare a file that can be presented to lenders if you decide to go ahead, and follow it through to signing. Your information serves no other purpose and is neither sold nor rented.
Who it is shared with
Once you have chosen to proceed, and only what the file requires: the lenders approached for your financing, the mortgage insurer when the loan must be insured, the appraiser mandated by the lender, and the notary handling the deed. Nothing is shared before that step, and no third party receives it for advertising. Your request is emailed to Mathieu St-Onge through Resend, a third-party email delivery service, which therefore handles this information to deliver it; it is not stored in a database on the site, and the email Mathieu St-Onge receives is the only record.
Cookies and trackers
This site sets a single cookie, needed for the forms to work, which expires after two hours; it cannot be read by scripts and is never sent to another site. Two third-party trackers are also used: Google Analytics, to measure which pages are viewed, and a Meta advertising tracker (the Facebook pixel), to measure which ads lead to a request. Neither loads before you accept them in the banner shown on your first visit, never earlier, and declining takes nothing away from the site. Once accepted, they report the pages you view and the successful submission of a contact request to Google and Meta; no form field is sent to them, so neither your name, your email nor your phone number. You can change that choice by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Retention
Your request is kept in Mathieu St-Onge’s mailbox, then in his broker file if you go ahead. The site itself keeps no copy. Brokerage files are kept for at most seven years after the request is closed or abandoned, then deleted. That ceiling respects the minimum retention period imposed on mortgage brokers; it does not cover documents a lender or notary holds in their own file. You may ask for earlier deletion at the address above, subject to what regulation requires to be kept.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information held about you, have it corrected, withdraw your consent for the rest of the file, or ask for it to be deleted. You will receive an answer within thirty days. If you believe a request was not handled properly, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Privacy incident
If an incident involving your information presented a risk of serious harm, you would be notified, and so would the Commission d’accès à l’information, as the law requires.
