Bad credit closes some doors in Mont-Tremblant, not all of them. What each lender tolerates, and what it costs.

The score matters least. What counts is what’s behind it: how long ago the item was settled, whether your credit has recovered, whether the file holds up without that line. A proposal or bankruptcy discharged two years ago, with rebuilt credit, isn’t treated like a late payment from last month.
Your full credit report, discharge or release papers for anything settled, and proof of payment for what’s left. Add your notices of assessment and proof of your down payment. The stronger the down payment, the more the rest becomes negotiable.
A bankruptcy, proposal, judgment or collection doesn’t close the file for good. Lenders look at how long ago it was discharged and what you’ve rebuilt since, in Mont-Tremblant like anywhere else in Quebec.
The lender goes by what it can check itself: payments made on time for several months, balances coming down, credit used without going over the limit. An explanation that leaves no trace on the report doesn’t carry much weight.
An alternative lender costs more than a bank. The question is what that buys you: time to rebuild, or a bridge to a conventional rate. The exit plan matters more than the rate, in Mont-Tremblant as anywhere.
A temporary solution is only temporary if the way out is written down: what has to change, by when, and what going back to ordinary financing will cost. Without that, the stopgap becomes the arrangement.
To prepare
Yes. Phone, email or video call, with documents sent online. We can meet in person if you’d rather, but most files get done without anyone driving anywhere.
Often two years after discharge, with credit rebuilt and paid on time since. Some lenders accept sooner if the down payment is bigger. What counts is what you’ve rebuilt. Time passing, by itself, isn’t enough.
